“The sooner, the better” ってどんな意味？

the sooner, the better
意味は、「早ければ早いほうがいい」
という表現ですが、せっかちさんでなくとも、使い勝手がよい表現です。

例）
A: When can we meet?
　いつ会えますか
B: The sooner the better. How about next Friday?
　早いのに越したことはないね。　次の金曜日はどう？


修理を依頼したい場合などに、
Customer : There’s no hot water. Could somebody come and look at the boiler?
　　　　　　お湯が出ないのですが、ボイラーを見に来てもらえませんか。
Landlord : When can I come to look at it?
　　　　　　いつ見に行けますか？
Customer : The sooner, the better.
　　　　　　早ければ早いほうがいいです。

「The 比較級, the 比較級」で「～であればあるほど～だ」
The cheaper, the better　安ければ安いほどいい
The wider, the better 　広ければ広いほどいい
など比較級を使っていろいろな表現ができます。

A: I would like to go to Tokyo next month. Do you know how much it costs to get there?
来月に東京に行きたいんだけど、どれくらいかかるか分かる？
B: It depends on what transportation you use. Do you have any preference?
どの交通機関を使うかによって違うよ。何かきぼうある？
A: The earlier, the better. I only have two days. There are many places I would like to visit.
早い時間であればあるほどいいね。たった二日しかないし、行きたいところがたくさんあるの。
